Celebrating Richmond’s Lakeside Avenue Business District

Welcome to Lakeside Avenue!
Situated snuggly between Joseph Bryan
Park to the south and the Lewis Ginter
Botanical Garden to the north is a mile
and a half of pavement the Virginia
Department of Transportation calls Route
161. We around here however know it
As Lakeside Avenue...and for many of
us this is home!
The Lakeside corridor is an eclectic mix of
close knit neighborhoods, parks, and businesses all sharing the
historic heritage as one of Richmond’s first “suburbs”.
Here in Lakeside you will find a warm welcoming community very
reminiscent of days gone by. Void mostly of the cookie cutter chain stores and restaurants that dot other parts of the city,
Lakeside is home to small owner operated businesses catering to
every possible need. In most of the shops and offices the owners
themselves are there to welcome you and to provide a level of
service most thought was long ago gone.
Take a moment to click through this site and discover the past,
present and future of Lakeside Avenue. You’ll also find a
comprehensive directory of businesses along with helpful
details including contact information, hours of operation and
links to their web sites.

The always blooming Lewis Ginter Botanical Garden anchors Lakeside Avenue to the north.
